What Spring in Colorado is...
Hannah says that Spring time in Colorado is when it rains while the sun is still shining.
To us is also means that we get to cut our grass for the first time.
And hang our tree swing
And look for ladybugs
And plant our garden
So when we deal with one windy day after another, it may take a little girls drawing to say, Spring in Colorado is so much more than just wind....

Moments I Cling To
So many days I find myself planing something for the kids that I think will make memories and will make childhood that much sweeter. Instead I find myself pulling my hair out and yelling "JUST BE GOOD SO WE CAN HAVE FUN!!" My picture of happy times gets shattered by uncooperative kids and my own stress.
The first week of this month we spent in Phoenix with Josh's sister, her husband and our sweet little niece Mikayla. We had lots planned and every day was full.
Our first day of activities we planned was a trip to the Children's Museum in down town Phoenix. Like always I had big plans of sharing each exhibit with my children and making it into a day of learning. Once we arrived the first room was filled with the most amazing climbing gym, with bridges and climbing walls and little rooms to climb to and explore and capture imagination.
Eager to experience this amazing play house with my children, I scooped up Madalyn and ran up the steps with Hannah. As soon as we reached the first landing Madalyn began to scream, to afraid to keep going. Down I went to comfort the little girl as Josh and Hannah went on to explore. Bummer! I waited patiently for Hannah and Josh to come back down and tell Madalyn and I all about it. Luckily when they did return Hannah was wanting to go back up and Josh was willing to hang down with Madalyn. Hannah ran off in front of me already knowing her way around leaving me to squeeze through all the child size doors and telling me I was too slow. Bummer! It truly was an amazing climbing house and I think we could have spent all day there, but the museum had more to offer and we moved on.
From there on out I would try and explain an exhibit to the girls and they would breeze right past me, buzzing on to the next. Bummer! I spent most of the day just trying to keep up and soaking up any minutes that they were willing to share with me.
After chasing the girls through the pool noodle forest we came to the other side to this cute little reading corner. The girls ran and got book that they wanted and I sat down in cute little reading cubby. Curious, Hannah sat down with me and soon after Madal came and laid on me.. there was no fighting over who got to to pick the book or yelling "She's touching me!!...." Just me and my girls enjoying a good book and our day together. Completely unplanned perfect memory and time to soak up moments of their childhood.
So very sweet!
